Purpose is often seen as a destination, a single moment when everything suddenly makes sense. But from my experience, purpose is much more than that. It is a journey, a process that unfolds with every step we take, every challenge we face, and every delay we endure.
On this sixth day of reflection, I want to share how embracing purpose as a process has transformed my spiritual walk and how it can encourage you to trust God’s timing and work in your life.

Understanding Purpose as a Journey
When I first started seeking purpose, I expected a clear sign or a sudden revelation. Instead, I encountered seasons of waiting, confusion, and even setbacks. It was tempting to feel stuck or question if I was on the right path. But the scriptures remind me otherwise.
Philippians 1:6 says, “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.” This verse reassures me that God is actively working in me, even when I don’t see immediate results. Purpose is not about perfection or instant success; it is about progress and growth. Every trial and delay is shaping me into the person God intends me to be.
How Trials Shape Us
Trials are often seen as obstacles, but they are actually tools for growth. I remember a time when I faced a major setback in my career. It felt like everything was falling apart, and I questioned my purpose. Yet, looking back, that difficult season taught me resilience, patience, and reliance on God’s strength.
Romans 8:28 offers comfort in such moments: “All things work together for good to those who love God.” This means that even the hard times are part of a bigger plan. They are not random or meaningless. Instead, they are pieces of the puzzle that God is putting together to fulfill His purpose in my life.
Trusting God’s Timing
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is to trust God’s timing. We live in a culture that values speed and instant gratification, but spiritual growth often requires patience. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me of God’s good intentions: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you... to give you a future and a hope.” God’s plans are always for our benefit, even if they unfold slowly.
Trusting the process means accepting that delays are not denials. It means believing that God is still building us, even when we feel stuck or uncertain. This trust brings peace and helps us keep moving forward, step by step.

Practical Ways to Embrace Purpose in the Process
Here are some practical steps I’ve found helpful to embrace purpose as a journey:
Reflect regularly: Take time to journal or meditate on your experiences. What lessons are you learning? How are you growing?
Celebrate small wins: Progress is progress, no matter how small. Recognize and appreciate each step forward.
Stay connected to God: Prayer and scripture reading keep us grounded and remind us of God’s promises.
Seek community: Surround yourself with others who encourage and support your journey.
Be patient: Remind yourself that growth takes time and that God’s timing is perfect.
Strength Within Reminds Us
The phrase Strength Within has become a personal mantra. It reminds me that the power to keep going comes from God’s presence inside me. When I feel weak or discouraged, I remember that God is completing the work He started. This inner strength helps me focus on progress rather than perfection.

Final Thoughts
Purpose is not a single moment of clarity but a continuous process of becoming. Every step, every trial, and every delay is part of God’s plan to shape us into who we are meant to be. Trusting this process requires faith, patience, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when the path is unclear.
If you feel stuck today, remember that God is still working in you. He will complete the good work He began. Keep walking, keep trusting, and keep believing that your purpose is unfolding with every step.
Prayer
Lord, help me trust the process and keep walking forward.
Complete the work You began in me.
Amen.
